Memorial Garden
for the Fallen

The Delaware Federation of Garden Clubs (DFGC) approached Blue Blaze for assistance to raise funds and public awareness for a very special project – the design and installation of a private therapeutic garden at Dover Air Force Base, the nation's largest military mortuary. This garden would be located adjacent to the Center for Families of the Fallen, a facility that provides support services for families who come to Dover to receive the remains of their loved ones. After the DFGC received approval from the Secretary of the Air Force, the Memorial Garden for the Families of the Fallen project was born.

Blue Blaze quickly set to work with the DFGC’s appointed committee to develop branding and a national fundraising campaign powered by a public relations strategy with press conferences and special events. Through the generous response of more than 70 state garden clubs and hundreds of individual donors, the fundraising goal was more than met and the garden was successfully installed.
